Explainer / Wallet funding
Why a funded Base wallet cannot fund Solana copies
In brief
Balances on separate networks remain separate even when they belong to the same Maya account.
Balances belong to a network
A Base deposit reaches a Base address and asset balance. A Solana copy spends from your Solana wallet. They use different addresses and transaction systems. Even if both balances are described in dollars, neither chain can spend the other chain’s tokens directly.
The same rule applies within EVM networks. Your Base and Ethereum receiving address may be identical, while their USDC and ETH balances remain separate. Address reuse does not create one shared multichain spending balance.
Example: $100 on Base and nothing on Solana
Suppose your Maya wallet holds $100 USDC on Base and no Solana USDC or SOL. A $10 Solana copy still lacks both its cash and native gas. The Base deposit does not make that Solana entry executable.
You can follow only the funded Base chain, fund Solana separately, or review a supported cross-network quote in Swap. Confirm the destination asset, network, amount and wallet before authorizing a conversion. Maya’s automatic protocol fee consolidation is separate from customer funding and is not active.
Choose the destination before sending
Open Wallet → Deposit, select Solana and copy the current Solana address. Confirm the sender supports the destination network and the intended asset. If bridging elsewhere, review the quoted destination token and address before approving; a dollar-priced token is not necessarily the USDC Maya expects.
Send a small initial amount and verify its receipt. Keep SOL for the later swap and withdrawal. A confirmed transfer on Base proves a Base transfer; it is not evidence that a bridge completed on Solana.
What the copy does while a chain is unfunded
You can save the selected copy while some chains lack funds. Those chains remain unable to execute; the Order feed explains skipped decisions. Funding later lets future eligible signals be evaluated, but does not buy the earlier missed entries.
If you do not intend to use a chain, deselect it. That makes your settings easier to understand and keeps the balances you actually need clear. Review chain selections again after editing a multichain trader.
