Paper and Live

How to practise copy trading before using real money

Use Maya Paper mode to learn the setup and trade records, then check what still needs attention before Live copying.

The short answer

Start in Paper mode to learn how saved rules and simulated trade records work. Paper does not move real funds. A practice result does not establish the price, liquidity or costs you would get in Live trading.

Start with one trader and rules you can explain

Check that you are in the Paper view before creating the copy. Choose the trader and networks, review the buy amount and exit rules, then save. You should be able to explain what would trigger a buy and what would trigger a sale.

Saving a copy waits for new eligible signals. It does not buy every token the trader already holds. If nothing happens straight away, check for a new eligible signal before assuming the setup failed.

Use the records to answer a few practical questions

When a simulated trade appears, check which trader and token it belongs to. Read whether the action filled or was skipped and look for the recorded reason. For a sale, check whether it came from the leader or one of your exit rules.

Try to explain the result using the settings you saved. If you cannot, work through that question before increasing complexity or moving to Live. A green result by itself does not show that you understand the setup.

Check Live separately when you are ready

Live copying needs its own checks: the intended account, the selected network, spendable cash, native gas and trading permission. A simulated fill does not test those requirements or establish that a real order can use the same route at the same price.

Paper and Live have separate records. Switching to Paper does not close positions you already hold in Live, and Paper activity does not earn payable rewards. If you already have Live positions, review them in the Live view.

Keep your next step clear.

Review the wallet, network and copy rules before starting.
