What optional wallet 2FA is meant to protect
In brief
Wallet verification adds an authorization step for supported sensitive actions; it does not evaluate the safety of a token.
Check which actions need verification
Review available methods in Wallet and understand how you will use them on your device. Enrolling a method should include a plan for loss of access. A successful verification proves the required authorization step completed, not that a trade is profitable or risk-free.
Worked example
Authorization does not verify a destination for you
Approving a withdrawal with an authenticator does not check that you selected the intended network. You still need to verify destination, asset and amount.
