Copy rules

Why your copy-trading budget runs out after a few buys

A per-buy amount is only one part of your budget. Repeated buys and overlapping traders can use the same cash quickly.

The short answer

A $10 buy setting applies to each eligible order. Three filled buys use $30 before costs, even when they all buy the same coin. Following another trader can add more exposure to that coin.

Count the orders your rules allow

Suppose you set aside $50 and choose $10 per buy. The trader buys one coin, adds to it, then buys a second coin. If all three signals qualify and fill, those orders use $30 before fees and other costs. The size of each order stayed at $10; the total spent kept growing.

Before saving a copy, read the repeat-buy setting and check whether its count includes the first buy. Then think about how many buys you could fund before a sale returns cash to the wallet. Do not assume the first ticket is your total commitment.

Check whether your traders buy the same coins

Two copied wallets can buy the same token. That gives you a larger position in one coin, even though the buys came from different people. Review the token and the copied trader in your records before adding another copy.

A copied buy can also be skipped. Count filled orders when working out how much cash was spent, and read the reason on skipped rows separately. Several signals do not necessarily mean several completed purchases.

Leave enough cash and gas for the network you use

Check spendable cash and native gas on the selected network. A balance on another chain does not fund this chain's next trade. Keep costs separate from the buy amount when you work out what the wallet can support.

If the budget is too small for the number of eligible buys, review the amount, repeat settings and number of traders together. Increasing a deposit without checking those rules can leave you with the same problem at a larger size.

Keep your next step clear.

Review the wallet, network and copy rules before starting.
