Does switching to Paper close Live positions

No. Changing the visible workspace mode is not a sale instruction.
Inspect Live holdings in the Live view
Return to Live and inspect open positions if you intend to reduce real exposure. Pausing, closing and withdrawing require their own account actions. Keep track of which workspace produced the displayed result before acting on it or sharing it as a real return.
Worked example
An empty Paper portfolio does not close Live tokens
An account may show no positions in Paper while still holding Live tokens. That does not mean the Live wallet was liquidated by the view switch.
